Course Overview

The  Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver is designed to develop, support and enhance the knowledge of prospective or existing drivers who wish to begin or develop a career in transporting passengers.

Taxi Regulations

New taxi regulations, aimed at raising the standards of the taxi trade operating within some Local Licensing Authorities, now mean that it is a mandatory requirement for all new and existing taxi and private hire drivers to complete a  Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver to be eligible to apply or renew a taxi licence. In some council area, you will not be able to apply for a taxi badge without this qualification. More and more local councils are implementing this year on year. How will I be Assessed?

Each unit of the qualification has an on-line test which is governed by the awarding body. There are nine units and the tests are scheduled in agreement with the learners and the tutor. Learners are provided with all the necessary support to suit individual requirements.
