Taxi Academy - More Dates Added

"Here at PPD, we are delighted to announce we have added further dates for the next three months, to support growth within our Taxi Academy and working with several Devon Licensing Councils.

Taxi Drivers and local councils have been subject to some pretty severe criticism in recent years. (see our new blog!). A series of high-profile safeguarding failings, failing to be true ambassadors for their area, directly involving the taxi licensing industry have hugely affected public confidence in the taxi trade and the local council’s ability to safeguard them.

Here at PPD, the aim of the qualification we deliver is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of individuals who are seeking to be employed in providing a service to the community. Some Local Licensing Authorities require the qualification prior to issuing a Hackney or Private Hire Driver Licence

This qualification is based on current best practice needed to be a modern taxi / private hire driver. As well as covering the core functions of a driver this qualification also focuses on vital skills needed to be able to offer a professional service such as communication, wheelchair accessibility and customer service.

We are now rolling out this ‘Driver Training Academy’ on a regional, then national basis. We can deliver this program to individuals or groups of 6 or more at their location to suit. Please reach out and get in contact for details and date availability!
